Plein Air Evening with Carla Linton and the AAC -Monday July 20th 5-8pm

from CA$2.00

This outdoor workshop is designed for artists of all experience levels who are interested in developing a more expressive approach to creating artwork.

The afternoon begins with a short demonstration on how to take strong reference photographs using the natural environment of Central Park. Participants will then explore the park, capturing three to four reference images that inspire them.

After returning as a group, I will demonstrate a variety of mixed media techniques and discuss how different materials can be layered together to create texture, depth, and expression.

Participants will then create three to four small studies based on their reference photos. The focus during this stage is experimentation—trying new techniques, making mistakes, and discovering unexpected ideas without the pressure of creating a finished piece.

Once everyone has completed their studies, we'll gather for a supportive group show-and-tell where participants can share their explorations and receive encouragement. Together, we'll identify which study has the strongest potential to develop into a final artwork.

Participants will then spend the remainder of the workshop creating a finished mixed media piece inspired by their favourite study.
