About our Judges:

Judy’s key artistic influence has always been Mother Nature. She credits her parents for allowing her the freedom to immerse herself for countless hours exploring the Hemmerling farm, where she explored every rock, flower, country road and pond she could find. It was this solitary process of immersing herself in the rural landscape that provided the catalysts for Judy’s future artistic philosophy. Judy has always been inspired by the energy of plant life, of beautiful gardens, and the vast, ever changing Alberta skies.

Ashley Thimot is a Canadian artist currently residing in Edmonton, Alberta. Born in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Ashley was artistic at a very early age, drawing in books and on the baseboards in her mother’s house. Ashley decided to further her passion by studying fine arts at Mount Allison University in 2003. After a year of study, she chose to work for an undergraduate degree in design, which she received from NSCAD University in 2007.
