SCHOLARSHIP 700

The SCHOLARSHIP 700 was approved and reinstated by the membership of the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove at the March 6, 2013 General Meeting. This annual scholarship of two (2) three hundred fifty dollars ($350.00) is to be awarded to two of the Allied Arts Council members to further their education in art and the recipient will be selected by a jury through application. Each year the scholarship will be funded by monies from the AAC major annual fundraiser, at the discretion of the Board of Directors of AAC.

To be eligible to apply for the scholarship, the applicant must first have been a *member in good standing with AAC for the past two fiscal calendar years, January to December each year, and must submit the attached application form along with a portfolio of five (5) pieces of work** completed within the last 1 to 2 years, directly to the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove in an envelope sealed and marked SCHOLARSHIP 700 before October 15.

Application forms are available from the Allied Arts Council of Spruce Grove or may be obtained from the link below. The deadline for submission of applications October 15th, annually. The SCHOLARSHIP 700 will be awarded at the first General Meeting in October of each year.  A period of no less than three years must pass before a recipient is eligible to reapply for the scholarship.

The applications will be reviewed and the recipient selected by a committee made up of two qualified outside independent judges, engaged for a period of two years, along with one AAC senior member appointed by the Allied Arts Council Executive.

The recipient must supply AAC with a written report on how the funds were spent as well as the tuition receipt as proof of their attendance in the course / workshop of their choice and make a verbal report at the Annual General Meeting following the awarding of the SCHOLARSHIP 700.

If for some reason you are unable to utilize the SCHOLARSHIP 700, it must be returned in its entirety to AAC.


* Member in Good Standing  – The description for the purpose of this scholarship application will be a member who for each of the past two years has attended a minimum of 50% of the General Meetings, has volunteered for at least the minimum required hours as per the current Polices and has paid their dues on time.

** The members who are short-listed may be asked to bring the original art in for adjudication.  A photo, slide or CD may be sent in with the application.
