Hanna, Dianna
Dianna has traveled throughout Canada and lived in five provinces and two territories. Residing in exciting places has given her the opportunity to be with remarkable people and experience Canada’s wonderland. Dianna has enjoyed the success of a professional career and the satisfaction of owning her own business.
In 1997 Dianna retired and moved to Alberta with her husband Dale. There, they enjoy the farm where they raise Percheron horses. Horses have many tales to tell and their expressions are priceless. Of course there are a couple dogs and the “must have” cats. Dianna enjoys the serenity of country living, she can step outside and within moments be absorbing the colours of the early morning sunrise, the dew drops on the grass, the whisper of an autumn breeze and the Rockies peeking to the west. She captures many special moments with her camera.
Dianna believes and enjoys lifelong learning and took this opportunity to study Fine Art. Dianna is primarily self-taught. She has participated in several art workshops from professional art instructors. Each art instructor has encouraged and inspired her advancement into the fine arts. She continues to participate in as many workshops as possible. The interaction with other artists and creative minds encourages growth, and creative flow.
Dianna loves to take interesting workshops such as stained glass and Silversmithing. She studied Silversmithing for24 weeks in 2009, wonderful art medium.
Dianna instructs Watercolour, Batik, Acrylic and Encaustic workshops throughout Alberta. Sharing is rewarding. Dianna is very active in the arts community. She is a member and supporter of several art groups of Alberta. She has held a number of positions for several groups and remainsactive and supportive. Being involved has encouraged new friendships, meeting fellow artists and finding new discoveries.
Dianna has been published and profiled in several newspapers and magazines. This is a wonderful opportunity to “tell your story” in art and life. Dianna has exhibited at M.H. Gallery in Spruce Grove, Little Church Gallery in Spruce Grove, Valley Gallery in Drayton Valley, Mackenzie Conference Centre, Drayton Valley, Artra Gallery in Edmonton, Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Grassland Gallery in Edmonton, Wildwood Gallery in Wildwood, Hamdon Gallery in Drayton Valley, Master’s Gallery in Calgary and The Scotia Place in Edmonton.
She also participates in yearly competitions with Alberta Community Arts Clubs Association, Open Art Competition, Senior’s Show Alberta and Visual Arts Alberta Association. Several of Dianna’s photographs have been published in magazines and newspapers. Dianna is interested in capturing “Creative Moments”. She has several DVD’s of all the special moments captured in time with her photographer’s eye. Titles are “Captured Moments”,” Lens to Lens”. Dianna has wonderful support from family and friends and will continue to pursue the arts and creativity. When one of my paintings speaks to you – it is my pleasure to share.
Artist Statement
The Artist and Her Passions My artistic and creative loves are Acrylic, Batik, Encaustic, Photography and Watercolour. Not necessarily in this order. I work with what is intriguing me at the moment. I love to pick my favorite colour and work with it in the medium that is calling to my creative mind. I work it, play with it and generally “get lost”!
Being an accomplished published artist and photographer is an exciting part of my life. I am published for articles in Batik, Watercolour techniques and tips. Several of my photographs and journal articles have been published worldwide. I enjoy sharing the many exciting moments I capture with my camera or my expressive interpretations on canvas and paper, perhaps a moment frozen in time.
With my camera close at hand, I find intriguing moments Mother Nature has shared in a snow drift or a painterly sky. My creative imagination is inspired by various elements such as, the wandering daylight casting interesting shadows, the flowers boasting perfection, the unique sunrise and sunset embracing the land, dancing leaves in the autumn breeze and the treasures of seasonal change . All contribute to my creativity. When one of my creations speaks to you – it is my pleasure to share.
