Berget, Yvonne
I grew up in Edmonton, and moved to Whitecourt after marrying my husband John, in 1962. There we raised our four daughters and operated a real estate business.
In 2004, we moved to Spruce Grove and a visit to the Little Churach Art Gallery inspired me to join the Allied Arts Council, where I was able to participate in many workshops and classes in the various mediums.
Oil painting is the medium that I chose to concentrate on after a few years of experimentation. I have been fortunate to have received instruction and guidance from several gifted teachers.
For the past 2 years, I have enjoyed painting mainly portraits of family and friends, though I still do some landscapes. My friend and mentor Loraine Ure, an Edmonton Artist, continues to critique my work and keeps me on the right path.
Painting is a wonderful hobby, and I really enjoy the process. There is so much to learn in creating great art and I hope to continue learning and improving for many years.
