Watercolour Exploration Beginner/Intermediate
Learn great basics or further your watercolour skills as Cindy takes you through basic colour theory along with information about watercolour pigments and their properties, brush strokes, watercolour techniques, values, composition and more. Discover Drawing Beginner
Do you have the urge to draw? Discover new skills in drawing with varied tools and materials. Projects in basic composition and design, still life, people, animals, birds and landscapes will be explored. This session is a supportive and fun atmosphere with no experience necessary. Drawing pencils, pastels, charcoal, ink and brush, all purpose drawing paper, felt pens, watercolour pencils, and conte’ will be used. Supply list available at the gallery.

Introduction to Coloured Pencil
In this six week session you will explore the versatile medium of coloured pencil through demonstrations and one-on-one guidance. You will learn different mark-making and blending techniques and how to layer colours to create depth and richness in your drawings. Coloured Pencil – Intermediate
This six week session is for students who have experience in the medium of coloured pencil and are ready to take on more challenging projects. We will experiment with various pencil techniques, and use the fundamentals of blending and layering to render a variety of subjects such as fabric, glass, and water. Abstract Art: Dabbling with Space
Designed to introduce to painters (any experience level) the idea of re-designing your paintings with emphasis on abstraction of the imagery. At the course the participants should be able to demonstrate new approaches to expressing in paint their personal content. In the first sessions we will be doing more mark making and drawing. Nature Drawing and Painting
Projects are demonstrated and explored such as basic composition & design, positive /negative space, perspective and still life. Fun ways of creating and discovering water-based paints (acrylic and watercolour) to stipple, stencil, dab, palette painting, modelling with gels and mediums. Drawing materials such as pencil, pastels crayons, conte’ and charcoal toward delightful nature expressions.

Painting with Pastels
This course will be an introductory to intermediate level study of soft pastel. Focus will be on building a pastel painting from the ground up, employing an under drawing and achieving a painterly effect by layering the pastel. Classes will start with still life, then progress to landscape, and finally wildlife or portrait. A good portion of the class will be devoted to increasing one’s confidence in drawing through detailed instruction.
