Calls & Shows
There are a variety of shows to be held in the Spruce Grove Art Gallery, which are hosted by the Allied Arts Council.
We host a number of Feature Artists through out the year. This is open to all Alberta artists, either solo or group, who accepts the terms of the call and is accepted by a independent juror. We choose our Feature Artists a year in advance.
The Juried Active Members Show is open to our active members. [Active is defined as a member who has attended a minimum of 4 general meetings in the year from one Juried Members Show to the next in order to qualify to participate in the Juried Active Members Show.] The entry deadline is April 6th, 2013 at 11:00am.
The exciting Open Art Competition is open to Alberta Residents over the age of 18 and who accept the rules of the show. There are Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Masters, Three Dimensional and Photography categories. There is a Gala night for this show as well as sponsored prizes. The entry deadline is August 25th, 2013.
The Seniors Call for Artists is open to Alberta artists over the age of 55 who accept the rules of the show. Ribbons are awarded to First, Second, and Third Place, as well as a Peoples Choice and Honorable Mention. The entry deadline is May 13th, 2013.
The Students Show is open to students in the tri-municipal area in grades 10, 11, and 12 who accept the rules of the show. Ribbons are awarded to First, Second, and Third Place, as well as Honorable Mention. The entry deadline is April 10, 2013.
The Instructor’s Show is open to all AAC Instructors so that the members and general public can get an appreciation for the highly qualified Instructors that AAC hires to teach our classes and workshops. It runs semi-annually (during the odd years, 2011, 2013, 2015, etc.)
